Life Is Fine by: Langston Hughes

I went down to the river,
I set down on the bank.
I tried to think but couldn't,
So I jumped in and sank.

I came up once and hollered!
I came up twice and cried!
If that water hadn't a-been so cold
I might've sunk and died.

But it was Cold in that water! It was cold!

I took the elevator
Sixteen floors above the ground.
I thought about my baby
And thought I would jump down.

I stood there and I hollered!
I stood there and I cried!
If it hadn't a-been so high
I might've jumped and died.

But it was High up there! I
t was high!

So since I'm still here livin',
I guess I will live on.
I could've died for love--
But for livin' I was born

Though you may hear me holler,
And you may see me cry--
I'll be dogged, sweet baby,
If you gonna see me die.

Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!

Message: that what ever happens we still can live our life, because why do we have to stop our life for a reason that don't make any sense.

Life is a ride by: Rebecca

Life is a ride
it goes up and down
and sometimes you have to run
or turn around
so many things happen
a lot of drama to take
but we live through it
leaving behind each mistake
you bought yourself a ticket
and now you’re on the ride
so make the best of it
don’t jump off the side
so put on a smile
you’ll survive a bump on the way
and then you’ll be shooting up again
because that’s the price you have to pay.

Theme:Life
Message: the author is showing us that life is a daily experience we left our mistakes and begin it again with change and she likened the life as if we ride it and that we control it no one
control.

woke up every morning,
my lips on your cheek,
a sleepy smile and the
chase began;

as i ran towards the invisible goal,
it seemed so far away,
yet i ran for years and years,
expecting it to be near, but getting fooled again and again;
i should have stopped,
maybe i should have listened to you,
as i kept running towards it,
i slowly faded away from your memories,
every minute and every second;
now as i stand in the middle,
exhausted, tired and clueless,
i turn around to see how far i have come,
and all i see is emptiness;
lonely, scared and plagued by indecision,
I stand here in the middle of nowhere,
not sure of which way to go?
should i leave it all and go forward?
or should i stay here, hoping you would catchup with me?
or should i take the long walk back home to be with you?
far away from what i know,
running towards what i do not know,
wondering if i will ever see you again,
Without You, I’m Nothing.

Message: in the poem the author is trying to tell us that no one can live without love.

Inviting – exciting – emotion
with power I had never known,
a world of unchained devotion
because you were my very own.
I had fallen in love with you.
Together we sailed in springtime
to an isle beyond seas of blue,
and when we returned, a new life
was waiting, in a valley of dreams
where I first fell in love with you.

TRUE FRIENDSHIP by:Samantha Sumler

True friends are for life
 Until the end
 They're more than special
 They're your best-est friends

They're the ones you can go to
 When you're in despair
 The ones that'll help you
Even when you got gum in your hair!

 They're the ones who'll laugh
And go laughing with you all through the night
 The ones who'll help you
Help you with all their might

 To have a good friend
 You have to be one
So be nice to one another
So you can be friends forever
And that's how to be the best friend you can be.

Theme: Best friends
Message: here in the poem the author is trying to tell you that friends are here for you, and that make you feel like you have a hundred shoulders to cry on.

A Friend is a Treasure A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty, joy and grace.
And make the world we live in,
a better and happier place.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Theme:Dream
Message:The author is trying to tell us that real life doesn't make sense to dreams, because in dreams we live the life that we wish to live.

An Angel In Summer by: Aline

One day on my way I found thee,
Under the branches of a blooming tree
White petals lay around thy head,
"Why angel hadst thou from heaven fled?"

My feet stood rooted to the spot,
Aye, move further I could not
So I watched thy sleeping silhouette,
Whilst my heart silently bled

Thy beauty was not mine to own,
Back to heaven it has flown
All that stayed is thy memory,
Be assured: I'll never forget thee!
